To give renewed and extended attention to the humanities in an institution that has been traditionally known for its male enrollment and its engineering program. Women are now being admitted to Lehigh and men students want more humanities orientation to their technical training. Therefore, interaction and mutual education of a group of faculty members and students across disciplinary lines is planned to find ways to incorporate the humanities more solidly into the life and curriculum of the university.
