Proposal for a seond conference having for its central theme the life, work, and meaning of the Swiss engineer, Robert Maillart (1872-1940), whose work showed a sensitivity to the social significance of architectural design. To bring humanistic studies directly to those who are likely to have the greatest influence on the generation of civil engineers that will lead the profession into the 21st century; engineering educators, young executive engineers, and humanists with a direct interest in technology or engineering education.
