To offer a year-long interdisciplinary undergraduate course that will relate culture, urban life, and questions of sex and gender. New York City will serve as a case study. Among the disciplines uses will be literature, anthropology, sociology, psychology, history, and law. Perspectives from the new scholarship about women will be drawn on.
