Intellectual Changes in China

To complete a book-length study of the intellectual transformation in the period from 1895 to 1911 which constituted a watershed in the cultural transition from traditional to modern China. The study will focus on four major figures of this period, arid the cultural forces and factors of motive responsible for the changes taking places in the minds of these Chinese intellectuals.
