FAIN: FB-12234-74

Christopher H. Johnson
Wayne State University (Detroit, MI 48201-1347)

To examine the relationship between the social and geographical origins of industrial workers and their behavior in the urban-industrial context of France (ca. 1800-1880). Details on the social, economic, demographic and cultural history of the city and feeder communes as well as descriptive material of migration and settlement patterns will be combined with biographical profiles in order to draw a composite picture of the life experiences of the workers.
