To examine the notion of rationality and its development in the light of the recently-emerged crisis (in Kuhn's sense) in the study of consciousness. Study will focus on two questions--what accounts of consciousness are presumed by post-empiricist accounts of knowledge?; and, how might a new paradigm for consciousness affect our paradigms of knowledge and rationality?
