Fellow to examine the American Studies Program at the University of North Carolina to broaden his knowledge of American Studies programs and curricula. Fellow has been appointed to develop and head a new American Studies program at Meredith College. With increased enrollment of black and foreign students, Meredith feels that it should offer a braoder analysis of American culture than that provided by traditional American history programs. Since Meredith has no faculty with degrees in American Studies or experience in such programs, fellow seeking first-hand information on the curriculum and administration problems involved.
