To study the calendar frescoes which were discovered under the church of Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome by Filippo Magi in 1966. Proposed study will focus on iconographic traditions of calendar and agricultural themes and revival of early Roman landscape painting in the fourth century as these issues effect the calendar cycle.
