To continue an archeological study of a church near Spoleto known as S. Salvatore. Scholars have long argued about this imposing basilica's date of origin and architectural significance. A systematic archeological investigation is needed to classify it as a product of a Late Antique revival an Early Medieval one, or of some other period. The next step towards this end will be a catalogue of the church's sculptural decoration illustrated by photographs and measured drawings.
