To support an exhibition of Islamic art, with emphasis on the religious, cultural, and historical forces that inspired and shaped it. Objects from Iran, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Turkey, Afganistan, and India, ranging from the 10th through the 19th century, will be shown in an interpretive context.
