The ArtsCenter (TAC) is a nonprofit community arts center in Carrboro, NC, serving more than 60,000 annually through its mission to nourish the arts, creativity and community through education, performance and exhibition. The ArtsCenterâ??s American Roots Series supports this mission by showcasing the visionaries and pioneers of music nurtured on American soil and known throughout the world. From blues, bluegrass and old-time to country and soul, it features the best in local, regional, and national artistry each January through July. Since the series began, TAC has presented 225 shows and has sold approximately 36,500 seats in its intimate 355 seat theater, receiving extensive critical acclaim for presenting a celebration of the diverse cultural heritage of the American South. The Film unit added to this series for the 10th anniversary in 2013 will reach rural Chatham Co with 3 films hosted at the county library and town/gown Orange Co. with 3 films shown at TAC.
