FAIN: RO-11913-74

University of Chicago (Chicago, IL 60637-5418)
Ignace J. Gelb (Project Director: October 1974 to present)

This project is the reconstruction of the earliest attested systems of land tenure and of the related social and economic institutions of Mesopotamia, specifically, and of the Near East, generally. The two phases of the project--study of primary sources followed by general discussion and interpretations--will result in two corresponding volumes.
