To complete a book manuscript devoted to the ballads and songs comprising the Camp Woodland Collection of Folk Music of the Catskill Mountains (collected 1941-58). Book assembles traditional song lore of a region, discusses process by which this lore was collected, and emphasizes the musical aspects, as well as the text sources of this lore. A detailed musical analysis and comparison is made for each tune so that each may be traced in other song and ballad versions, with the same or different texts.
