To make available the corpus of all versions of Romances through the 15th century to the present which have been collected throughout the Hispanic world, utilizing as a base the unpublished collection of the Meredez Pithal Archive in Madrid, through a) publication of a general descriptive catalogue describing 220 ballads and, b) creation of an International Electronic Archive of the Hispanic Romancero containing some 6,300 ballad texts.
