FAIN: RT-*0036-78

University of Hawaii (Honolulu, HI 96822-2216)
Albert J. Schutz (Project Director: May 1977 to October 1990)

To compile a comprehensive and accurate description of Standard Fijian grammar, whose central location and number of speakers (over 250,000) make it one of the most important of the Austronesian languages. The finished product will hold an interest not only for linguists, but also for educators in Fiji concerned about the development of their students as bilinguals.
