The Library will present and interpret its collection of Western European illuminated manuscripts by mounting a major gallery exhibition that will promote an understanding of medieval and Renaissance intellectual and cultural history and the history of the book. The Library will also, in partnership with the American Library Association (ALA), present a traveling panel show covering the same themes and materials, to be exhibited in community libraries across the United States. NYPL will further promote and interpret these primary documents through a scholarly catalog, exhibition brochures, website, symposia, lectures, arts workshops, children’s reading hours, and other programs for both a general public and a scholarly audience. |
