To plan a exhibition (2007) about the Swedish scientist Carl Linnaeus (1707-78), as well as associated programs, the American Swedish Historical Museum is planning a meeting of fifteen scholars at the ASHM, in Philadelphia, in May 2004. The scholars are historians, especially of science, museum studies professionals, and curators who are experienced in exhibition planning, presentation, and evaluation. The meeting will produce an exhibition plan, plans for associated programs, and a list of objects to borrow. The ASHM's budget for this project is $44,850. We request $10,000 from the NEH, and will raise the balance from various foundation, corporate, and private sources. |
