Planning for audience research and the refinement of exhibition content for a new interpretation of an historic synagogue in Washington, D.C.

The Jewish Historical Society of Greater Washington plans an innovative and engaging long-term interpretive installation in its 1876 historic synagogue, the oldest in Washington, DC. The immersive museum experience will expose audiences to the immigrant experience, American religious history, and fundamental questions about American identity. To be completed over one year, the project will coordinate with a major restoration of the building. Funding will support audience research, refinement of content, and the honing of select storylines that will drive the interpretation.
