Young, a public historian and certified archivist with expertise in the areas of archival administration, preservation, and related fields, to advise the library director in assessing the local history collection. This assessment would include a long-term plan for the care of the collection, a determination of the best and most cost effective preservation methods, an initial purchase of the most essential supplies, training of the director and other members of the staff and volunteers through a combination of in-house training and participation in regional preservation workshops. |
