The New England Quilt Museum is requesting support for preservation activites recommended by a 2003 General Conservation Assessment (CAP). The first component of the project is to have a professional conservator train our staff and volunteers in the basic tasks related to the storage of quilts and their preparation for display. The conservator will also prepare a binder of reference materials that will serve the as a collections manual for the museum. The second component of the project is to have a consultant evaluate the data collected from a year of environmental monitoring. The consultant will make recommendations and help us create a long-range plan for environmental control at the museum. |
