We propose to complete and publish on the Internet the archetypal text of the B version of Piers Plowman and to draft the penultimate draft of the critical text of version B, also for free circulation on the web. Both critical text and the archetype will be based on machine-collated TEI-compliant transcriptions of the B witnesses. We will, moreover, prepare additional documentary and color facsimile editions of A and C manuscripts to serve as bases for the archetypal texts of both versions. |
