FAIN: ED-*0884-78

CUNY Research Foundation, Lehman College (Bronx, NY 10468-1527)
Emita B. Hill (Project Director: November 1977 to October 1990)

To offer a program of cross-divisional humanities courses with an urban focus. Lehman College's student body is significantly economically and academically disadvantaged; over 50% are minority students. The program will include introductory courses such as "The City in History,” internships for advanced students, and courses designed to introduce the cultural resources of NYC to non-humanities concentrators. In addition to acquainting urban students with the legacy of the Western city, the program aims to enhance the attractiveness of the humanities at Lehman and their influence on students' future lives.
