EXPANDING THE ROLE OF THE LIBRARY & ITS COLLECTIONS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

FAIN: EH-*0014-75

Mills College (Oakland, CA 94613-1301)
Elizabeth Reynolds (Project Director: May 1974 to October 1990)

To begin a program by which faculty, students and staff would use the general and special collections of the college library more fully. Would focus attention on the humanities materials in the general collection and on related materials in the special collections. Would offer a course on the history of the book, exhibits that related to specific college courses, noteworthy events and performances sponsored by departments, discussion programs in the library for courses in various disciplines, preparation of basic bilbiographies and bibliographic essays. The program would also strengthen the present library orientation program by including mini courses in library use and self-guided tours. Program would be directed by college librarian. Results to be shared with other small colleges, universities and ALA.
