To support development of course materials covering 4 aspects of Chinese civilization and society: worldview, family, community and state. To edit and organize material into an 800 page text.

To develop course materials for the teaching of Chinese civilization and society and to edit and organize them to form a sourcebook of about 800 pages. Materials selected from varied sources, will focus on four basic aspects of Chinese society: world view, family, community, and state, and will illustrate the differences between ideal and practice, elite and popular levels, and traditional and modern forms.
