To support production of a 3-film series about Chinese cities for use in college-level survey courses in Chinese Studies. Recent scholarship will be incorporated.

To produce a series of 4 films entitled Four Cities m Chin; to be filmed in China, focusing on Ch'ang/Sian, Hangchow, Peking, and Shanghai, for use in college-level survey courses in Chinese studies. Films will examine life in Chinese cities in the present and the past and the implications of the Chinese urban experience for the West.
