To provide guidance to Black organizations and institutions in Alabama in preserving Black history records and in designing instructional materials from them.

To expand its current program on the Collection and Evaluation of Materials about Black Awareness in order to provide guidance to various Black organizations and institutions in Alabama in the preservation of records and to design instructional material(for testing in 3 Alabama school systems) from those records and other archival and manuscript holdings.
