To enrich the study of American culture by drawing on existing offerings from several disciplines, the project will create 3 new courses which systematically compare America with other societies, examining their unique and common aspects. The comparative perspective provides students with insights into American civilization and the tools for a subsequent encounter with a foreign culture.
