HUMANITIES PROGRAMS IN AN ENVIRON- MENTALLY-ORIENTED COLLEGE

To implement a program of required courses designed to supplement existing humanities courses and to ensure that students majoring in programs oriented toward social and natural sciences are made aware that environmental matters can best be understood in humanistic terms. The Program consists of four courses developed under an NEH Planning Grant with four additional courses planned. Faculty from three other universities and colleges will work with the Northland faculty. A variety of teaching strategies will be used. A tow day public conference is planned each year.
