A BRIDGE PROGRAM ON THE HUMANITIES FOR ADULT LEARNERS

FAIN: EP-*0396-78

Earlham College (Richmond, IN 47374-4095)
Audrey P. Clapham (Project Director: August 1977 to October 1990)

To conduct a series of half-credit courses in the Humanities, selected and designed to meet the concerns and needs of adult students. The half-credit format will permit special attention, a new reduced workload for incoming students, and half-cost fees. Subjects of new courses, "Know Thyself," "Other People, Other Places," and "Challenge to Freedom", are specifically geared to students seeking new directions. The weekly two-hour sessions will be divided into one hour of lecture, one of discussion. Readings will average 100-150 pages per week. A faculty evaluation committee will give a yearly review of the new programs.
