FAIN: EP-*0522-78

Northeastern University (Boston, MA 02115-5005)
Clay McShane (Project Director: November 1977 to October 1990)

To develop a group of humanities undergraduate courses for students in Northeastern's professional programs. Courses will serve as models for further interdisciplinary cooperation and teaching. Students will learn the backgrounds of their own professions, cross-cultural contexts for them. Courses planned are: "Sickness and Health: Historical Perspectives" (for students in the Health program), "Technology and the Transformation of the World" (for engineers), "History of the Professions" and "Criminal Justice in America." Interdisciplinary Review Committees of participating faculty members, historians, and faculty members in the professions will evaluate the courses.
