Southern Studies: The Last Fifty Years

To enable a team of faculty representing the disciplines of History, Political Science, English and Sociology to develop an interdisciplinary; study of the South during the last 50 years. The course will attempt to: (l) develop new applications of the humanities and social change in the South; (2) to demonstrate the relevance of the humanities to career and professional orientations; (3) stimulate interdisciplinary connections within the humanities; and (4) attract many aging and retired citizens who have chosen Aiken as a retirement community. The modular topics of the course will be team-taught.
