Colby College (Waterville, ME 04901-8840)
Johnathan M. Weiss (Project Director: May 1978 to October 1990)

To develop an undergraduate concentration in Regional and Canadian Studies at Colby College. Faculty members in the departments of Modern Languages, English, Sociology and Education will develop and coordinate courses dealing with Northern New England and Eastern Canada, and will help provide the college with the necessary outside expertise to encourage student and faculty interest in the Region. The program will be built upon strong major offerings already existing in French, English and American Studies, and will have as its goal the strengthening of the liberal arts curriculum by taking advantage of Colby’s geographic situation to promote cross-cultural comparisons.
