Floyd A. O'Neil (Project Director: May 1977 to October 1990)

To create curriculum materials for the study of the Indians of the Americas. The project will develop two major curricular resources: a collection of translated Spanish and Portuguese materials, and a universal methodology for the use of oral tradition as historical source. To develop the methodological model, the project will study four specific groups: Navajo, Apache, and Zuni as e oral group; and the Shoshonean Basin people as a cross-cultural control group. The materials will be distributed to many colleges and universities.
