Core Seminars for the Graduate Program in Afro-American Studies

FAIN: EP-*1524-78

Yale University (New Haven, CT 06510-1703)
Charles T. Davis (Project Director: May 1978 to October 1990)

To undertake the organization of an interdisciplinary graduate program in Afro-American Studies around 3 core seminars, to be taught by a group of senior faculty members at Yale University. The 3 graduate program seminars will serve as unique syntheses of interdisciplinary approaches to the social and intellectual problems not readily available in a standard graduate curriculum. The Afro-American Studies curriculum will rely heavily upon Yale's established excellence in the humanities and social sciences and it will offer the chance for students to apply various and usually unrelated methods to an understanding of complex matters of race and class.
