To prepare, through a year of faculty development and trial courses, an alternative series of core interdisciplinary humanities courses satisfying the requirements for graduation. The plan includes 1) faculty retraining for interdisciplinary teaching and writing of humanities courses and the evaluation of present teaching practices in workshops; 2) workshop participants in team-teaching of 4 trial, full-semester interdisciplinary humanities courses; 3) a trial, comprehensive evaluation of all aspects of the planning year.
