Women's Studies: A Plan of Expanding the Humanities Curriculum

FAIN: EP-10294-76

University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, PA 19104-6205)
Elsa Greene (Project Director: July 1976 to present)

The Women's Studies Program in co-operation with other departments will develop three interdisciplinary undergraduate concentrations which link the study of women in the humanities with preparation for non-academic careers in communications, law, government and medicine. The present liberal arts curriculum will be analyzed in regards to women, and faculty workshops on research about women will be conducted. The goal is to develop the interdisciplinary potential of the multi-disciplinary women's studies curriculum and to enrich the traditional humanities curriculum with the new ideas that research on women is now generating.
