To establish 4 regional summer institutes for secondary school teachers (to be held at Stanford, Rutgers, U. North Carolina, and U. Minn.) to achieve 3 goals: 1) training 200 teachers capable of integrating women's history into high school curricula; 2) rejuvenating history teaching in schools by exposing participants in new historical scholarship and methodology for classroom use; 3) developing new and revising old curricular materials in women's history and family and oral history.
