To research, write, evaluate, revise, and prepare for publication a 2-semester curriculum and related materials in the history of D.C. for junior high level students. An elementary level teacher's manual will also be prepared. Materials will be designed to revitalize the teaching of American history in the secondary schools by beginning with topics close to the students' own experiences. Materials will relate local events to national issues and events.
