The Philosophy of John Duns Scotus

FAIN: FA-10744-73

Allan B. Wolter
Catholic University of America (Washington, DC 20064-0001)

To do a general study of the philosophy of John Duns Scotus (d. 1308) one of the most important influences on Western philosophical thought. The only critical study of Scotus' works heretofore was based largely on unauthenticated works. This new study will be based on material being collected for the Vatican edition of Scotus' works, which will not be available to the mass of medieval scholars for several decades.
