Einstein on Quantum Theory

To study the development for Einstein's mature thought on the conceptual bases of quantum theory, (an area of Einstein's conceptual biography not yet examined in any depth) and the implications of this thought for the direction of physical research; to trace the response to Einstein's ideas by the relevant community of research scientists; to find out the genesis of the commonly accepted study of Einstein's reactionary attitude toward quantum mechanics; to verify this account and, finally, to use these materials to address this methodological question: What is the rational response of a scientific community when faced with a serious disagreement which strikes at the core of a rapidly developing research program?
