To write the 5th volume of a multi-volumed biography of Franklin D. Roosevelt. This volume will cover from the summer of 1933 through the election of 1936. The focus will be Roosevelt, rather than a sweeping history of the New Deal, and the approach will be both narrative and analytic, with the emphasis upon relief and recovery.
