To survey collections of Northwest Coast Indian art objects locating as many well documented pieces as possible validating conclusions of provenance and period. Seldomly studied in an analytical fashion until recently, Northwest Coast Indian art is now the subject of more and more studies of form based on new understanding of the structures of the arts of the coast, thus providing meaningful analyses.
