To study English the slave trade to the Spanish-American colonies between 1713 and 1807, the period when England achieved supremacy in the trade. Grantee will establish the geographical and ethnic origins of the slaves and the nature of the commercial organization of the trade. A quantitative analyses of the trade will be undertaken. Grantee will explore the slave's reaction to their capture and their treatment aboard the slavers.
