To examine particular substantive Constitutional problems, to understand and articulate their moral complexities, and to assess proposed solutions in terms of whether they are both morally permissible (or obligatory) and Constitutionally plausible, and to articulate a moral theory which would underlie both particular substantive provisions and decisions and the Constitution itself.
