To study Germany from 1890-1914 era in the post World War II era focusing primarily on domestic developments and considering such topics as the impact of industrialization on the social and political structure of Imperial Germany and the extent to which Germany's part in the arms race was connected to rising social tensions in the years immediately prior to the Great War, and the development of the two Germanys in terms other than of the rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union in the post-World War II era.
