Myth, Symbols and Ideology

To survey myth theories from Vice to Joseph Campbell, emphasizing the ritual school, the depth psychologists, the structuralists, theories of symbology, mythology as the basis of ideology. Each participant will isolate from this tangle of theories a line which promises to fulfill his special interests--archetypes, genres, myth as taxonomy, allegory, etc.
