To study basic themes of Wittgenstein's Tractatus; and, second, to attempt to perceive how the new ideas of the Investigations gradually emerged from Wittgenstein's own intensive criticism of his previous conceptions. It is believed that this is the most fruitful method for enabling students to capture the excitement of Wittgenstein's "new philosophy" and to perceive its critical impact on prevailing philosophical ideas about language, mind, ethics and religion.
