To examine utilitarianism in its various forms. Among the concepts to be considered are the concepts of objectively and subjectively right; act-utilitarianism; rule-utilitarianism; and the importance of Rawl's criticisms of utilitarianism. Attention will be given to the implications of utilitarianism for current social issues.
