Summer Seminar Entitled: "Reflections of Chaucer in Shakespeare"

FAIN: FS-*1354-78

Trustees of Indiana University (Bloomington, IN 47405-7000)
E. Talbot Donaldson (Project Director: May 1978 to October 1990)

The seminar will consider Shakespeare's reactions to the Chaucerian material with which he was acquainted as well as the qualities in that material that may have caused him to react as he did. The emphasis will not be on Chaucer as an inert influence from the past, but rather as a vital energizing force exerting itself on Shakespeare's mind.
