Contemporary Marxism: A Critical Analysis

FAIN: FS-10208-76

University of Kansas, Lawrence (Lawrence, KS 66045-7505)
Richard T. DeGeorge (Project Director: January 1976 to present)

The seminar will study the social philosophy of three groups of contemporary Marxists: the Soviet-Marxist-Leninists, the "creative" Marxists of Eastern Europe, and the "critical" Marxists of Western Europe and the U.S. The seminar seeks to arrive at a balanced assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of contemporary Marxism and a critical, informed understanding of its place in contemporary culture and thought.
